Raw ceremonial cacao - "Almarte", 500 g, Bio
100 % ceremonial cacao, mild & creamy
This new cacao variety thrives in the surroundings of the Los Haitises National Park, which is known for its rich biodiversity and is one of the most species-rich regions in the Dominican Republic. Surrounded by mangoes, oranges, vanilla, and wild herbs, the cacao absorbs the essence of the jungle. It grows in a vibrant ecosystem—not on a plantation, but in a pulsating, diverse garden. This Dominican cacao is part of a regenerative system where it thrives without intervention, supported by biodiversity, pollinated by bees, and protected by ancient trees.
The cacao combines an intense chocolate flavor with gentle nutty notes, fine fruitiness, and subtle floral elegance. Its flavor is mild in bitterness, yet rich in energy. The unusually long processing time is particularly noteworthy. The beans are ground so finely that a velvety, creamy consistency is created. By foregoing roasting, the nutrients, energy, and original power of the plant are fully preserved.
Almarte means "The Art of the Soul". The combination of Alma (soul), Arte (art), and Amarte (to love you) is of central importance. The Almarte community creates not only cacao, but also a culture of the heart. Their mission is to create a new way of togetherness, characterized by trust, freedom, and love—carried by the power of this sacred plant elixir.
