Tonka beans are the seeds of the tonka tree from the butterfly family - they are becoming increasingly popular as an ingredient in desserts and pastries. Their scent, which comes from the coumarin they contain, is reminiscent of freshly cut mountain meadows in high summer. For smoking, the bean is finely grated with a nutmeg grater and added in small quantities to mixtures. With its delicate, sweet, cheerful scent, it warms the soul and spreads a golden, positive mood.
