Shoyeido's Shokoh Incense Granules represent one of the oldest forms of Japanese incense appreciation. Rather than being lit like incense sticks, these carefully blended granules are gently heated on glowing charcoal. Crafted from precious aromatic woods, resins, herbs, roots, and spices, they create rich, evolving fragrances that have long been valued in temples, traditional ceremonies, and quiet moments of meditation.
The collection includes distinctive blends such as Rendai-koh (Lotus Leaf), Bodai-koh (Satori – Enlightenment), and Reihai-koh (Devotion). Heating the granules slowly allows their natural aromas to unfold in layers, offering a uniquely refined fragrance experience.
