The Woodstock Chakra Chimes Seven Stones – Large takes the concept of the Chakra collection a step further. Seven colourful stones are paired with seven silver aluminium tubes that Woodstock describes as tuned to the frequencies of the seven chakras.
The stones form an ascending column, reflecting the traditional arrangement of the seven principal chakras along the body's central axis. The seven tubes extend this symbolism into the world of sound.
The result is a wind chime in which colour, form and tone follow the same idea.
The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and means “wheel” or “circle”. In Indian traditions it refers to energy centres of the human being. The familiar system of seven principal chakras associates them with different positions, colours and meanings.
Woodstock translates this traditional symbolism into a contemporary sound object. Seven aluminium tubes give the Large model greater resonance and presence than its smaller counterparts, while black-finished pine and colourful stones provide a restrained visual setting.
The removable windcatcher allows the chime to be individually adjusted. With an overall length of approximately 61 cm, the Large version has a considerably stronger presence and is particularly suited to places where its sound can be consciously enjoyed.
