This liana, which occurs throughout the Amazon region, is called cat's claw (Uncaria tomentosa) because the holding organs with which it climbs the giant trees of the rainforest are reminiscent of the claws of cats. Once it reaches high up in the canopy, it spreads into the crowns of the trees.
Cat's claw roots and bark have been used in folk medicine by the natives of South America for centuries. For several years now, Una de Gato has also experienced steadily increasing demand in the Western world because of its stabilizing and strengthening properties.
Our cat's claw powder is obtained from the inner root bark. The handmade capsules contain 100% pure powder - they are free of anti-caking agents and fillers. The powder is vegan, gluten-free and tested for harmful substances."
