Zaphir Chimes - the true successors to the legendary Shanti Chimes
For more than 30 years, these unique chimes have been handmade in the Pyrenees from natural, mostly recycled materials. The resonating body contains eight bars of specially alloyed steel soldered to a metal ring and struck by a pendulum. This creates five magical, harmonious chords that make the Zaphir a wonderful relaxation instrument for yoga, meditation or music therapy.

The dimensions of the Zaphir correspond to the harmonic principles of the golden ratio. The resonating body consists of thin layers of cellulose, which are calendered under high pressure. The resulting thin, solid cylinder has the special acoustic properties for the warm, crystalline sound of the Zaphirs.
The five different melodies are associated with the natural vibrations of the seasons. All five vibrations harmonise with each other so that several Zaphirs can be played at the same time.
The artistic colouring of the chimes is created using a special marbling technique and makes each Zaphir unique. We offer the five zaphirs in a colour that matches their theme.
The outer shell of the Zaphirs is covered with an ecological protective film, the inside is painted with a moisture-repellent organic paint and the wooden parts are waxed. Nevertheless, the Zaphirs should be hung outside and protected from the weather.
